Open the Bottle - Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey

Open the Bottle - Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey

The original single barrel bourbon, this is very tasty whiskey in a very cool bottle. Launched in 1984 under the guidance of master distiller Elmer T. Lee, it was originally for the Japanese market. While very popular there, it sat on shelves for years here in the US until suddenly, it didn't. Now, it's allocated and bringing upwards of $100 with some retailers cashing on taters hunting and pricing it as high as $250! That's ridiculous. Blanton's is very good whiskey and, in my opinion, well worth $50 and still worth $60 in today's market but I'm out there. Do what you want but in my mind Blanton's just isn't worth more and I won't chase it. Instead, I'll buy Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit or a George Dickel Hand Select or Single Barrel for around $50 and be just as happy, if not happier if I just have to have a single barrel whiskey. Cheers!
