Friday Sips Live - July 1, 2022 - I would pay more for these 7 bottles of whiskey, but not Blanton's

We talk a lot about the rising costs of whiskey, in particular bourbon, but this morning I was thinking about how fortunate I've been lately to buy some really nice bottles at or very near their retail price. Some of those bottles have been among my favorites and I realize that more than I'd just buy them again, I'd buy them again even at higher prices. They are that enjoyable to me. Some bottles I really like and would pay more than their SRP but not as much as their current market value. Luckily, I have quite a few stashed away that fall into that category - Weller Special Reserve, Old Weller Antique, McKenna BiB. Then there is Blanton's. I really like Blanton's at $50. I like it ok at $60. After that, I'm out of love for Albert's finest. Even if he was a Colonel whose middle name was Bacon, more than $60 for his bourbon isn't a fair trade.

Cheers!
