Back to the Bottle Reaction - Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey

My reaction to Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey after it's been open for a while.

This is one of those bottles that folks who work in liquor stores get tired of talking about. It went from being stacked on shelves years ago at $25 to impossible to find and being priced at $85 to $100 and beyond and it just isn't worth those crazy prices. Sure, it was the first commercially available single barrel bourbon, the bottle is funky, and the horse topper with letters that spell B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S if you collect them all is cool but what's in the bottle is a solid $55 - 60 product but not more in my opinion. There are so many readily available and delicious single barrel whiskies - think Dickel, Wild Turkey, and Russell's - with as much or more age and higher proof that I see no reason to chase Blanton's past $60. Cheers!
